David W. Shuford was born in Dallas, Texas on July 1, 1945. He attended Southern Methodist University where he played football on the 1966 SWC Championship team and graduated with a B.B.A. (major in economics) in 1967. He then attended law school at Southern Methodist University where he was a member of the Law Review. After graduation in 1970, Mr. Shuford joined the law firm of Rain, Harrell, Emery, Young & Doke. In 1973, he joined the firm of Hewett, Johnson, Swanson & Barbee which he left in 1976 to form his own firm.

Mr. Shuford is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Association and the Center for American and International Law.

Mr. Shuford concentrates his practice in representing plaintiffs in professional malpractice cases against both lawyers and accountants. He accepts a limited number of major cases in which the professional has breached his duty to properly and competently represent his client.

Mr. Shuford is married to Karen Shuford, and they have two sons.
