About the 10th District


The 10th Congressional District of Illinois is situated north of Chicago along Lake Michigan, and includes nearly 700,000 citizens in northern Cook and Lake counties.

The District runs from Wilmette and Mount Prospect in the south to Waukegan in the north. The western edge of the district includes Inverness, Buffalo Grove and Libertyville; the eastern edge of the district is formed by Lake Michigan.

Famous not only for its lakeside beauty, Illinois’ 10th District boasts a diverse population and wide range of economic and social activities for its well-educated, independent minded citizens. It’s marvels include the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe.

The District is also home to numerous Fortune 500 companies, such as Baxter Healthcare, Abbott Laboratories, Allstate Insurance, and Household International. It is also home to Great Lakes Naval Training Center, the largest training facility for the United States Navy, hosting 30,000 men and women each year at the start of their military careers.
